Spring Meeting 2010 at Aldeburgh/Thorpeness
Summer at the Spring Meeting
Aldeburgh welcomed us yet again with a superb presented golf course, and this time without any
wind or rain. Before we teed off we were served the traditional soup (it was debated whether it
was chicken or fish soup!) and sandwiches. After a most pleasant round could we add up our scores,
enjoying the local brew (Adnam’s) or a glass of wine outside the club house in the afternoon sun.
We had a nice dinner at our hotel in Thorpness (the Crab was excellent). Following the tradition
were we served port from the decanter that is held in the clubhouse at Aldeburgh.
After a hearty breakfast we were ready for a new challenge, the interesting Thorpeness course.
The weather was good, although we did get a bit wet. The lack of wind was also much appreciated,
particularly when we reached the 11th hole, next to the pig farm!
Congratulations to Ulf Brasen who won three trophies, and Gunilla Huldt who won two trophies.
