Autumn Meeting 2009
Twenty-two
keen golfers crossed the Channel early Friday morning for three days of
golf. This time the “weather gods” were on our side. We had good
golfing conditions although the wind was a bit of a challange on the
second day.
The
first day we played for 4! different trophies at La Mer Golf Course.
Congratulations to the four winners, Pax (36 points), Nils Rutlin (33),
Irja Laven (33) and Agneta Ax :son Johnson (32). I played in the last
3-ball and we finished the round in the light of a beautiful full moon.
Very romantic! After a very pleasant evening at “our” hotel, Le Manoir,
and some well deserved sleep we were ready for next day’s medal at
Belle Dune Golf Course.
We
found the effect of being so close to the sea. The blustery wind made
playing conditions extremely challenging and there were quite a few
provisional balls being played. I was very impressed by the three top
scores by the Ladies, Christina Andersson (67), Eva-Karin Brodd (69)
and Gunilla Huldt (69). Back to Le Manoir, out of the strong wind, for
a few drinks and a nice dinner.
The
third day we played for Prinsessan Birgittas Trophy at Les Dunes Golf
Course. We were blessed with perfect golf weather, no wind, no rain and
no sun! Again good scoring. Roger Lundkvist won with 39 points followed
by Eva-Karin Brodd with 38 points.
Six
players had the chance to win the Kroon trophy, the aggregate score of
the Society’s Prize (spring meeting) and the Captain’s Prize (autumn
meeting). Congratulation to Pax (155, net) who beat Ulf Brasen by 7
shots and Jan A Persson by 8 shots.
Good Luck to all of you who will be playing in the Ladies’ meeting and the Gentlemen’s meeting.
Kristoffer Huldt
